The left lane is closed near mile marker 142, and the right lane is closed near mile marker 143, officials said.
The wreck started after a single vehicle ran into the guard rail. Drivers taking it slow to look at the wreck forced another driver to go into another lane, cutting off the truck driver.
The truck driver veered off into an embankment to avoid hitting another car and overturned.
No serious injuries were reported.
The transportation department set up a detour. They advise to take exit 138, N.C. Highway 10 and turn left on Wike Road.
Follow Wike Road to N.C. 10 and turn right onto N.C. 10 South.
