RALEIGH, N.C. — Nearly 30 vehicles were involved in a major crash Friday evening on Interstate 540 in North Carolina, WTVD reported.
The wreck shut down several lanes of the interstate near Creedmoor Road in north Raleigh.

WTVD reports that it appeared to be a chain-reaction crash. Officials have not said whether rain or fog that moved through the area was a factor.
Authorities have not said if anyone was hurt at this point.
Highway Patrol and NCDOT are investigating the scene. Traffic is expected to be back up for a while.
