CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Neighbors in west Charlotte met Wednesday night to try and figure out how to get rid of a nightclub that has turned into a hot spot for crime.

Channel 9 has reported on several shootings linked to Club 935, including one just last week. There have been five shootings linked to the club in the past two years, and neighbors said the only way they'll feel safe is if Club 935 closes.

Just last week, a man was shot in the stomach after police said he got into a fight with someone else outside the club. Channel 9 was there when police took that suspect into custody.

The club's violent history dates back to February, 2013 when a man was shot and killed near the club. That September, a fight at the club ended with someone shooting and killing a man at a nearby apartment complex.

Then in May, 2014 another fight that started at the club ended with a man getting shot a few blocks away. And the in April of this year someone was shot in the hip.

Community members discussed how to resolve the ongoing problem at the Wallace Pruitt Rec Center on Tuckaseegee Road.
