CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Regional Business Alliance published its latest quarterly economic report on Thursday, and the magnitude of the pandemic’s impact — particularly on the hospitality sector — came into sharper focus with 156,000 jobs shed between April and June.
Hospitality businesses suffered the most, according to the economic data. Bars, restaurants, hotels and other companies in the industry accounted for 62,000, or 40%, of the overall net jobs lost.
