New restaurant Puerta to dish up Mexican food, spirits in Elizabeth

CHARLOTTE — Expect Puerta to be a celebration of Mexican food and spirits when it opens in Elizabeth.

That restaurant is set to debut on Aug. 11 with a dinner and late-night menu. Puerta is located at 1961 E. 7th St. in Charlotte.

Executive Chef Robert “R.J.” Corley — best known for his work at The Debruce in New York — has built a menu focused on fresh and bold flavors. Dishes will honor Mexican culture and be prepared with traditional techniques.
