CHARLOTTE — Police are trying to find the person who shot and killed a man early Thursday in west Charlotte.
Officers were called shortly after 1 a.m. to the scene along Freedom Drive, near Camp Greene Street, after reports of a shooting.
The first officers to arrive found a man who had been shot. MEDIC took him to the hospital but he did not survive. Police have identified the victim as 22-year-old Jaylon Webber.
No arrests have been made and no suspect information has been released.

Detectives and Crime Scene technicians could be seen collecting evidence and trying to speak with witnesses.
