STANLEY, N.C. — Emergency crews were called overnight to a roof collapse at a business in Lincoln County.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. at Blum Inc., which is a huge factory at the corner of Old Plank Road and Highway 16 in Stanley.

The company makes hinges for cabinets.

Officials told Channel 9 the roof collapse happened toward the back of the property, and that it was a 124-foot by 75-foot section of the roof in the warehouse manufacturing area.

The area was being remodeled, according to officials, and temporary supports were in place, but they apparently gave way.

No one was hurt, authorities said.

The company said a small section of the roof collapsed in an area that was under construction.

Building code inspectors will return later Thursday morning to investigate further.

Blum has resumed normal operations.
