Nobody hurt in downtown Mooresville house fire

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Fire crews had to close a busy street in downtown Mooresville as they battled a house early Monday morning.

Firefighters were called to the home on East McNeely Avenue around 4:30 a.m. and saw smoke pouring from the house.

Officials told Channel 9 one person was inside when the fire started but was able to escape.

Firefighters got the fire under control in roughly 45 minutes.

The fire marshal determined the fire started in the back of the building but aren’t sure yet how.

The road was closed near Main Street while crews were investigating.
