RALEIGH, N.C. — A North Carolina police officer helped an injured bald eagle on Friday, WTVD reported.
Raleigh police said Officer Kostka responded to a call about a bald eagle that was hurt on the off-ramp at Interstate 540 and Aviation Parkway. The caller was by their vehicle watching the bird.
Kostka saw the eagle about 15 feet from the road, and realized the bird was not able to fly away.
The officer wrapped the bald eagle in a towel and took it to a local veterinary facility.

Officials said the eagle will be eligible for rehabilitation, so after the vet treats the bird, they will pass it off to a licensed rehabilitation center.
