GASTONIA, N.C. — The North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles has revoked the commercial driver training school business license and all associated instructor licenses for NC Virtual Driver’s Ed, LLC, effective Sept. 2.
Under the revocation order, the company is prohibited from operating as a commercial driver training school anywhere in North Carolina.
State officials ordered the immediate closure following an investigation that revealed multiple statutory and administrative violations.
NCDMV had previously placed NC Virtual Driver’s Ed, LLC on probation and offered a corrective action plan under a Probationary Agreement. The company failed to accept the agreement before the Aug. 31 deadline, leading directly to the license revocation.
State investigators found that the business linked classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction in a manner that restricted customer refunds. The company also lacked sufficient qualified instructors, improperly counted non-instructional time, and delayed or refused to issue required refunds and completion certificates.
Driver education services completed through the company before the revocation remain valid.
Affected customers who fail to receive a properly dated completion certificate or refund by the Oct. 15 deadline are asked to report issues to the NCDMV School Bus and Traffic Safety Unit.
N.C. Virtual Driver’s Ed, LLC has been directed to issue all pending refunds and completion certificates for rendered services by Oct. 15.
