GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Unemployment claims in North Carolina increased last week, with new filings rising to 4,413, up from 3,121 the previous week.

Nationally, unemployment claims declined, falling to 198,000, according to the Gaston Gazette.
Tennessee saw the largest percentage increase in claims, while New Hampshire reported the biggest drop.
