Police: 26-year-old Hickory woman found safe after reported missing

HICKORY, N.C. — A 26-year-old woman who had been missing since Tuesday has been found safe, officials with the Hickory Police Department said.

Officials said Summer Eckert was found Thursday after she was last seen Tuesday morning leaving the Catawba Valley Medical Center Emergency Department on foot.

Authorities had noted that Eckert was in need of medication.
