One person dies in single-car crash in York County, troopers say

YORK COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after their car crashed into a tree in York County on Friday night, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers said William Bradley, 68, of Gastonia was driving north on SC Highway 49 near Campbell Road -- about four miles north of York -- when their 2009 Toyota SUV went off the right side of the road.

The York County Coroner’s Office said autopsy and toxicology will be completed later this week.

The car then hit a tree and caught on fire, according to highway patrol.

Bradley was the only person in the car. He died at the scene, troopers said.

SCHP said the investigation is ongoing.
