ROCK HILL, S.C. — Plans for a performing arts center in downtown Rock Hill are progressing with a recent $2 million donation and key design milestones met.
Organizers for the Marlie Center at Fountain Park have raised $15 million in financing and completed schematic design for the project over the past year to date, Justin Smith said. He is chairman of the Marlie Center at Fountain Park board.
The venue will be a 600-seat, two-story performing arts center on 3 acres at the corner of Elizabeth Lane and Main Street. It will have a performance theater, blackbox theater, education classrooms, exhibition gallery, public gathering spaces and administrative offices.
