CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panther Fozzy Whittaker, a native of Houston, is planning a fundraiser to help his hometown recover from Hurricane Harvey.

Whittaker and some of his teammates will be serving guests at the Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar at SouthPark next Tuesday.

The restaurant will donate $3 for every entree served.

Whittaker has already helped raise more than $25,000.

Teammates Mario Addison, Christian McCaffrey, Russell Shepard, Jonathan Stewart and Darryl Williams are expect to join Whittaker.

When Hurricane Harvey hit his beloved hometown, Whittaker and his wife Jasmine immediately set up a YouCaring page, which has raised over $25,000 to date, quickly surpassing their original goal of $5,000.

Whittaker will be at the restaurant from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
