CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton is no stranger to the spotlight.
Newton is getting a lot of attention lately as the Carolina Panthers continue impressing fans and winning games.
Giving kids footballs after touchdowns is one of Newton's trademark gestures that fans love and others love criticizing.
In Newton's latest advertisement for Beats by Dre, he's calling attention to those critics.
"If giving a kid a football just for a smile; or dancing after a touchdown hurts other people's feelings, then guess what? Too bad they don't make Band-Aids for feelings," Newton said in the ad.
