WASHINGTON — What does a Zaxby’s near FedEx Field in Washington, D.C. have to do with the Carolina Panthers?

The restaurant and four others spread throughout Virginia and North Carolina are owned by wide receiver Andre Roberts, who wrapped up training camp in Spartanburg this week.

“Honestly, the biggest thing for me is just having my own thing when I walk into my store. I’m like, ‘Man, this is mine,’” Roberts said.

Meanwhile, Roberts’ business partner, former college quarterback Duran Lawson, minded the store in Chantilly, Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C., which they bought in 2019.

Roberts, who is playing his 13th season, is planning his life after the NFL.

Roberts may have time to stop by the Zaxby’s in Chantilly this weekend, when the Panthers arrive in the nation’s capital to face the Washington Commanders.
