CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Part of two busy roads near uptown Charlotte were blocked early Wednesday following two separate crashes.
A portion of North Tryon Street near West 24th Street was closed for hours after an SUV took out a power pole late Tuesday night, downing lines across the road.
The road was shut down between Dalton Avenue and 24th Street but reopened around 5 a.m.
Officials said the SUV crashed into a parked car after it hit the pole.
No injuries were reported.
Police also had to close North Graham Street just a block away from North Tryon Street after they said a driver slammed into a utility pole and then ran off.
Graham Street was closed near Keswick Avenue while crews worked to repair the pole and remove the downed power lines from the road.
Police said Graham Street was reopened before 8 a.m.
