Patients on NC’s State Health Plan won’t pay more if they use Atrium Health in 2027

NORTH CAROLINA — Patients on North Carolina’s State Health Plan won’t pay more if they use Atrium Health for care next year.

Our partners at the Charlotte Observer report the state and the health network reached a deal after months of back and fourth.

The state previously moved Atrium out of network for patients, saying it would save millions of dollars and keep costs from going up.

The state says the new deal moves Atrium facilities into the plan’s access tier.
