CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg County employees need to check their bank accounts and payroll information because someone tried to hack into payroll accounts.
The county manager sent a letter to all employees saying someone called, claiming they needed help accessing an account.
The caller provided employee names over the phone but has been untraceable since.
Channel 9 is working to learn if anyone’s money was stolen.
