Pedestrian struck, killed by train in Charlotte, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Monday morning near Charlotte's Oakview Terrace neighborhood.

Officials with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the crash happened near the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and South Hoskins Road.

The name of the victim has not been released.

Medic said the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

CMPD officials said the train is currently blocking South Hoskins Road and advised drivers to avoid the area.

Channel 9 is asking officials what led to the crash.
