Peeping Tom took pictures of girl, 12, in Target changing room

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Huntersville police officers are looking for the man who took a picture of a 12-year-old girl in a Target dressing room.

Police said catching the peeping Tom is top priority, and they are following up on leads.

Police said Wednesday night a man was standing in a dressing room at the Target on Sam Furr Road and used a device to take a picture of the girl, who was changing in the adjacent room.

Officers have not said if the man used a camera or a phone.

He drove away before police arrived.

"It definitely worries me. This is my neighborhood Target. I go to this Target all the time," said shopper Kierra Moore.

Target stores have surveillance cameras inside and outside, but police are not saying if they have reviewed the store’s surveillance video, or if they know who they are looking for.

There has not been an arrest, and until that happens, shoppers said they will avoid buying clothes at the Target store.

"I'll probably take more caution, definitely. I won't be changing in here anytime soon. At all, actually, especially since they haven't caught him," Moore said.

Huntersville police increased patrols through the shopping center on Friday night.
