70+ mph winds cause severe damage in Chesterfield County

CHESTERFIELD, S.C. — The National Weather Service confirmed straight-line wind speeds that were between 70 and 75 mph blew through an area in Chesterfield County.

The strong winds caused damage Friday night to mobile homes, which left several people trapped inside.

We are waiting to hear an update from officials.

People were trapped in their homes off Hunts Mill Road in the Hope.

All but one person was rescued and as of late last night, they were still working to get that person out.
