Pfizer has announced a new round of layoffs affecting its facilities in Rocky Mount and Sanford.
The pharmaceutical company notified employees of the cuts Tuesday but did not specify how many positions would be eliminated, when the layoffs would occur, or which departments would be affected.
Pfizer’s Rocky Mount facility is a major sterile injectable manufacturing site, while its Sanford operation focuses on vaccines and advanced biologics manufacturing, including gene therapies.
The company did not provide additional details about the scope of the layoffs.
