Police: Bomb found during child porn search of Lincolnton man's home

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Police searched a man's home in Lincolnton for child porn and said they found a bomb.

Donald Cunningham, 36, is charged with distributing child porn and possessing a weapon of mass destruction.

Police said the device is known as a "cricket," which they said is constructed from a carbon dioxide cartridge containing gun powder and a fuse.

Deputies said they safely detonated the bomb.  They believe it was set up to hurt them.

Detectives said Cunningham did distribute, receive and exchange photographic images of child pornography.

The FBI seized computers from the home for further investigation.

Cunningham was jailed with bond set at $150,000.
