CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A convicted sex offender who spent 10 years in prison is facing new charges after he was accused of sexually assaulting two more young girls.

Authorities said they caught Brendan Roby working feet from a day care and a school. He was convicted in 1994 of taking indecent liberties with a child.

Police said he forced himself on two young girls over the course of six months last year. One of the girls was 3 years old.

As a registered sex offender, Roby was not allowed within 300 feet of a building where kids gather.

Police said he was caught working at a detailing shop in Stanley by a Christian school and a pre-school that was inside a church.

Roby is in jail in lieu of a $1.3 million bond.

Police said he knew the families of the two girls he's accused of abusing.
