CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police seek fresh leads week after shooting death
Police are asking for fresh leads in the death of a west Charlotte woman shot and killed last week.
Sacore Gray took care of her bedridden mother on Fordwood Drive. Someone shot and killed her Friday.
Police went door to door around lunchtime Thursday, handing neighbors information on Crimestoppers. Officers are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
"Ms. Gray was a mother. She was a caregiver. She was a grandmother. Just an all-around rock in her community," said Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Maj. Mike Smathers.
"She was visible in the community. She was a grandmother. She was an aunt. She was my best friend," Gray's brother Robert Lindsay said.
He used the word "senseless" over and over again and said, "We just need your help. It was tragic. It was senseless."
Gray leaves behind three children and five grandchildren.
