Police investigate after shots fired a teen in apartment complex

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Some residents at an east Charlotte apartment complex are on edge.

They said bullets were flying all over the place after someone fired shots at a teenager.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department detectives rushed to the Windsor Harbor Apartments on Shamrock Drive just before 6 p.m. Monday.

A woman who lives there told them someone pointed a gun at her 16-year-old son and shot at him several times.

The boy wasn't hurt.

Neighbors say police searched for the gunman for hours in the woods nearby, but didn't find anyone.
One resident, who didn't want to be identified, says he's moving immediately.

"It could've been my grandson out here playing around," he said.

Last month, police said Jacob Hill shot and killed Darrell Hames near the playground at this same apartment complex.

Investigators believe the men knew each other and the shooting was drug-related.

No arrests have been made in Monday night's shooting.
