CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating an armed robbery outside the Family Dollar on Sugar Creek Road Friday.

A large police presence was spotted outside the northeast Charlotte store around noon.

Chopper 9 Skyzoom captured images of the scene. Several police cars and officers surrounded a black truck in the parking lot.
