CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The driver of a Honda died Friday morning after crashing head-on into a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools bus in north Charlotte, CMPD said.
At about 8:20 a.m., Jonathan Davis, 29, was driving a 2007 Honda Civic on Beatties Ford Road at Mount Holly Huntersville Road when he lost control, over-corrected and crossed a double yellow line and hit the front-right area of CMS bus No. 135.
The Honda spun off the road and went down an embankment.
Davis died at the scene.
There were no passengers on the bus, but the driver was taken to Atrium Health - CMC Main with minor injuries.
