Motorcyclist killed in west Charlotte crash, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE — A motorcyclist was killed in a west Charlotte crash Monday night, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

It happened just before 8:30 p.m. on the 5600 block of Paw Creek Road.

Police said the motorcycle collided with a Chevrolet SUV. The motorcyclist, 64-year-old Thomas Pruitt, died at the scene.

While the driver of the SUV was not found to be impaired, toxicology results are still pending for Pruitt.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
