CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were looking for the driver who hit a man on the Brookshire Freeway early Tuesday morning.
Part of the Brookshire was shut down around 4:30 a.m. for nearly an hour after police said they found a man in the middle of the road who had been hit by a truck.
Paramedics took 51-year-old Robert Stephenson, Jr. to Carolinas Medical Center but he is expected to survive.
Police said Stephenson was not in a crosswalk when he was hit by a gray or silver pickup truck that then drove off.
