HICKORY, N.C. — A Silver Alert was issued Thursday for a 62-year-old man reported missing after he vanished from an assisted living facility in Catawba County.
Hickory police said Kent Reid, who may have dementia or some other cognitive impairment, was found safe shortly after 1 p.m.

Reid had been last seen at about 5 a.m. at the Springs of Catawba assisted living facility at 2010 29th Ave. Drive northeast in Hickory, wearing an orange T-shirt, vest and black beanie hat.
Police have not released any other details.
