CMPD located 47-year-old man with Down syndrome, police say

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police located a 47-year-old man who was reported missing in University City Thursday evening.

Authorities said he is in good health.

Earlier, police said Dane Foster left his home on Emerald Cove Drive around 5 p.m. Thursday.

According to officials, Foster has Down syndrome and said he does not communicate well with others. Authorities said he can become confused and not know where he is at times.

Officers said Foster did not have a car and believed he was in the University area.
