CHARLOTTE, N.C. — On Thursday police arrested Jeffery Stanavich, who they said held up a pharmacy in south Charlotte.

He walked into the Rite Aid store on South Tryon at about 9 p.m. Wednesday night armed with a handgun, authorities said.

Police said Stanavich demanded oxycodone pills and money from the pharmacist.

Dana Johnson witnessed the robbery inside the store.

"I was really, you know, scared to move or anything because I didn't know where the guy was with the gun and she said, 'He just robbed me,'" Johnson said.

Stanavich was charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon and is in jail on a $50,000 bond.
