Police: Man falls from roof of Fort Mill school under construction

FORT MILL, S.C. — A man fell from the roof of Doby's Bridge Elementary School, which is under construction, according to Fort Mill Police Department.

The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at 2060 Doby's Bridge Road.

The man was 28 years old and lives in Charlotte.

Officers said the man works for Basland Inc. of Charlotte, which does commercial drywall. He fell from an upper roof area onto a lower roof level and then the ground.

He was taken to Carolinas Medical Center. His condition is unknown at this time, according to police. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
