Police: Woman arrested after deadly stabbing in east Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have arrested a woman after a man was found stabbed to death in east Charlotte early Sunday morning.

Chakyra Robinson, 21, has been charged with first-degree murder for the death of Jaquis Lowery, 23.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to Montego Drive for reports of an assault with a deadly weapon around 4 a.m.

When officers got to the area, they found Lowery with several stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said preliminary information and evidence indicates the incident was domestic-related. Detectives interviewed a person of interest in the case and Robinson’s arrest followed a few hours later.

No other information has been released.
