Police need help identifying two men who robbed Dollar General

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The Union County Sheriff's Office needs help identifying two men who robbed a Dollar General store on Saturday.

Investigators say two armed men entered the store on East Highway 218 just before closing time. At the time, the employees, both women, and a male customer were inside.

One of the robbers struck one of the employees in the head with a handgun during the robbery, according to investigators. The injuries were minor.

The suspects took money and a cellphone before leaving the store and escaping the area on foot.

The first suspect is described as a black male, wearing denim shorts, a white T-shirt and a New York Yankees baseball cap. He was armed with a handgun.

Police describe the second suspect as a black male wearing dark clothing, bright yellow gloves and armed with a long gun, possible a sawed-off shotgun.

Both men wore wigs and sunglasses.
