CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Douglas International Airport said police have given the all-clear after an investigation into a "possible security item" Monday afternoon in the baggage claim area.
Sources told Channel 9 a dog sniffed out a suspicious item.

The airport tweeted that lower-level traffic was being rerouted to the upper level.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's bomb squad responded to the area where the unattended baggage was found and determined there was no threat.
Messages with updates for those in the terminal were being provided every five to 10 minutes, and people were being told to stay in place.
The airport tweeted around 5 p.m. that law enforcement gave the all clear, and passengers were being allowed back into the terminal.
Chopper 9 Skyzoom flew over the airport, where we could see lines of cars waiting to get to the terminal.
Officers said they found the bag's owner and returned it.
