Police searching for suspect after 10-year-old hurt in Huntersville shooting

Police said a 10-year-old girl was hurt in a Huntersville shooting Thursday night.

Officers were called to the scene at around 11:20 p.m. at apartments on Pinnacle Cross Drive near Northcross Drive.

Authorities said that two storage areas, two vehicles and two apartments were struck during the shooting. The child was in one of the apartments when she was shot and suffered minor injuries.

Police said two suspects, 22-year-old Deminique Watters and 20-year-old Antonio Weeks, are accused of the shooting. Watters has been arrested, but officers said they are still searching for Weeks.

Both men are facing charges for possession of a weapon of mass destruction, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a stolen firearm (two counts), discharging a firearm into occupied property, and damage to property (five counts).
