DURHAM, N.C. — Aerial photos circulating online show the skies above Durham, North Carolina, taking on an eerie yellow-green glow.

Is this a scene from the apocalypse? Nope, just a lot of pollen.

Using a drone, photographer Jeremy Gilchrist shot the now-viral photos Monday and posted them on his Facebook page, according to WTVD.

"No tricks here," Gilchrist captioned the post, which has been shared more than 17,000 times. "Yes, you are looking at a green haze made up of tree pollen from the pines of central NC. This is Durham: #ThePollening #Pollen #Pollmageddon."
