CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — A portion of Interstate 85 northbound in Cabarrus County near Kannapolis was closed Sunday afternoon due to a crash.
Officials said a multivehicle crash around 2:30 p.m. closed the highway near Dale Earnhardt Boulevard.
The road reopened around 7 p.m.
We're still working to learn how many people were injured and how serious those injuries are.
Our crew counted five cars involved and saw a helicopter take at least one person from the scene.
