CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities had to shut down a busy road in Myers Park after a car crashed into a utility pole early Wednesday morning.
Department of Transportation officials said a driver severely damaged the pole on Providence Road, just south of Queens Road.
The road was reopened at 4 p.m.
Both northbound lanes were closed, as well as one southbound lane between Cherokee Road and Colville Road while crews worked to make repairs.
Drivers were told to avoid that section of Providence Road. Randolph Road and Park Road are available as alternate routes.
