HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — On Sunday, the Huntersville Fire Department said an accident knocked down power lines near Northcross Drive and Sam Furr Road.
According to an Eyewitness News crew at the scene, the car involved in the accident crashed into a pole on Northcross Drive around 11 a.m.
Medic said that one patient has been treated with potentially life-threatening injuries and has been transported to Carolinas Medical Center - Main.
Officials said the power was out for about three hours for businesses, homes and churchs along Northcross.
"We got all the food out that we could that was actually still cooking. We got everybody out that was in the building," said Kyle Marks with Bob Evans Restaurant.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
