UNION COUNTY, N.C. — Some Union County residents said that they can’t trust the water coming out of their taps and that the well water has been failing state testing.

The county has opened an application process for the Short Water Line program that connects residents on wells to county water.

The Short Line Water Project absorbs most of the cost to get access to safe water to residents.

Residents who want to connect to the county water system can apply until Dec. 20. Click here to for more information on the project and how to apply.

In the video at the top of this webpage, anchor Genevieve Curtis speaks with homeowners who went through that process last year and are eager to have safe water soon.
