CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Publix sees room for more stores in the Charlotte market.
The Lakeland, Florida grocer opened its much-anticipated store in the Cotswold neighborhood this week.
That marks the 23rd Publix location to open in the Charlotte region in the last four years. And the grocer isn’t done yet, says spokeswoman Kim Reynolds. Just how many stores the grocer could ultimately end up with is uncertain, as the area continues to grow and evolve, she adds.
And, yes, that includes uptown Charlotte.
“We want to continue to grow in Charlotte,” Reynolds says. “It’s a region we’ll always be looking at.”
