BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. — Raytheon Technologies Corp. has plans for a massive new aerospace-parts facility in western North Carolina.
The Waltham, Massachusetts-based company plans to hire for 800 jobs at a new 1 million-square-foot high-tech turbine airfoil production facility in Buncombe County. The company will invest $650 million at the new facility by the end of 2027.

The facility will be operated by the Pratt & Whitney division of Raytheon Technology, which produces an assortment of airplane parts, including engines and auxiliary power systems.
