Charlotte has a new free program to help people who can't find a job.
Central Piedmont Community College earned a $5 million grant to start the Reach it initiative.
The courses give free training in health information technology.
The first round of classes started this week.
Another session in business IT starts next month.
"IT is an area in Charlotte that is growing. There is a lot of jobs available, and we want to build the talent to be here in the community," said Dr. Dana McDonald the Executive Director of the CPCC Re-Careering Center.
The program also provides training for people who may have part-time or entry-level positions and want to improve their skills.
