Report: Murders by teens under 16 have risen by 600% compared to previous year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cases where teens under 16 years old are being accused of robbing, raping and murdering innocent people are becoming more prominent.

Channel 9 has uncovered numbers that show the cases are becoming a real problem not only in our area, but all over the state.

A North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation report states murders by teens under 16 have increased by 600 percent when compared to the previous year, and some critics said a new law that goes into effect soon could amplify the problem.
