CHARLOTTE, N.C. — There are new campaign finance numbers to report in the race for Charlotte mayor with the primary election coming up in 1 1/2 months.
There's a clear leader among the Democrats when it comes to raising campaign money in the race, but the two Republican candidates are much closer together.
Starting with the Democrats, former county commission chair Jennifer Roberts has raised the most with $302,227.
Her closest competitor is current Charlotte Mayor Dan Clodfelter with $182,904. City councilman David Howard is not too far behind at $158,876. Current Mayor pro-tem Michael Barnes has $19,350.

Democrats Roderick Davis and Deshawn Joseph did not have any money to report.
On the Republican side, Edwin Peacock has raised the most with $137,031 and Scott Stone raised $104,079.
Roberts has raised the most money of all the Republican and Democratic candidates.
Clodfelter has spent the most. Voters head to the polls to vote in the primary on Sept. 15.
